James P. Martin
Before joining the ranks of the Renalus Center for Kidney Care Team in 2006, Dr. James Martin was among the nation’s finest when he joined the Navy to complete his Nephrology fellowship at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. He later served as the Chief of Internal Medicine and the Director of Emergency Services at the Naval Hospital at Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station, and in 1993, was ranked as a Captain in the United States Navy.
To this day, Dr. Martin’s love for his country can be seen through continued military service as a reservist. But, beyond his love for his country, is his unyielding care for his patients.
Dr. Martin graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and went on to pursue medical training in osteopathy at the University of Health Science in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Nephrology at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. Martin is board certified in Osteopathy, Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is credentialed in hyperbaric oxygen treatment.
Dr. Martin has privileges at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, West Florida Hospital, Twin Cities Hospital, and the Sacred Heart Health System.
In his free time, Dr. Martin enjoys traveling, photography and history.
