Derek Jimenez
M.D.
Dr. Derek Jimenez joined Renalus Center for Kidney Care in 2007. His expertise is in dialysis and renal transplantation. As an active member of the regional medical community, Dr. Jimenez serves on the Medical Executive Committee at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast and he served as a Clinical Instructor at Eglin Air Force Base in Family Medicine Residency.
Dr. Jimenez graduated from Florida International University in Miami, Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies. Dr. Jimenez attended Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic for his doctorate in medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Nephrology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. While there, he was awarded the Superior Achievement Award in Internal Medicine and was appointed the Chief Fellow.
Dr. Jimenez is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, Renal Physicians Association, American College of Physicians and the Hispanic American Medical Association. Dr. Jimenez has privileges at the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, the Sacred Heart Health System, North Okaloosa Medical Center, Twin Cities Hospital and Andalusia Regional Hospital.
